As most of you will have noticed ItalianGenealogy.com has been completely revised. From November 2010 until April 2011 extensive work has been done to the website design and a new forum. This included a conversion of 34.500 members, 45.000 private messages, 19.500 topics and 155.000 postings!

I started the website in April 1994 and over the years ItalianGenealogy.com grew bigger and bigger. Although regularly updated, the last major update has been done in August 2002, so the latest update was more than a necessity.

So what are the new functions of the website?

• First of all there are new practical forum functions for members as well as moderators.

• A link directory is introduced with interesting links about Italy and Genealogy divided in seperate catagories where everybody can make suggestions for new links.

• Furthermore ItalianGenealogy.com has a blog. Members: Nuccia, Wldspirit and Squigy will write articles for this blog, but other members who wish to write one or more blog(s) are more than welcome. All articles will be edited beforehand. Tasz, who is a professional editor, journalist and published author, will be the editor for the blog.

Last but not least I would like to thank all members who helped testing the new forum; Lilbees, Liviomoreno, Mler, Tessa78, Squigy, Nuccia and Wldspirit . Their help has been much appreciated.

Also I want to thank all volunteers, especially moderators Nuccia and Wldspirit, who are always there to help others with the search for their heritage. Without them ItalianGenealogy.com would not be able to help and assist so many people.

A special thanks goes to my wife and two children. Thank you for all your patience the last few months, when I was putting all my free time in the conversion of ItalianGenealogy.com. It was needed to make sure the conversion would run as smoothly as it did.
