Naturalization...Yes or no??

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Did her grandfather become a US citizen, renouncing his Italian citizenship?

This form can be used to send for naturalization records or to recieve a record of no naturalization.

Start by requesting a search of the National Archives:

1) go to: https://eservices.archives.gov/orderonline
2) register
3) select "Find & Request"
4) Click on "People & Groups"
5) click on "Naturalization Record" (in far left column)
6) click the "Certified copies of records..." if you want certified
7) click "add to cart"
8 ) fill in as much info as you can, some fields are REQUIRED
9) choose a date range for search
10) check out, filling out address, CC info, etc.
11) repeat steps 1 thru 10, if you need more date ranges searched, you only pay IF they find something
12) you will get email notifications with reference numbers, use those via this same web page to check on status
13) wait

If your query(s) come up with "no records found" proceed to requesting records from USCIS. What I'm not sure of is, if they do find something, do you need to use that info to get the actual Naturalization Certificate?
