Copy of Passport

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Copy of Passport

Postby matta » 02 Dec 2008, 13:00

I know it's not required for citizenship, but I would be interested in getting my hands on this anyway just for my personal records.

Anyone know where to apply to get a copy of a deceased ancestor's Italian passport? I assume one was needed to emigrate from Italy.

Do you go to the Archivio di Stato of the province? Ministry of the Interior? Has anyone ever successfully found a passport?

Thanks.
