Giardino from Rocca San Giovanni, settled in Peterborough

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Giardino from Rocca San Giovanni, settled in Peterborough

Postby Dean » 06 Apr 2009, 17:07

Hello to all:

I'm currently looking for some help tracking down the Giardino side of my family that resided in Rocca San Giovanni. More specifically info on Mauro and his son Carmine, who immigrated through Ellis Island to Peterborough Ontario, Canada where they settled and raised generations of family.

I'm unsure if I need to contact the town of Rocca San Giovannin or if I should be looking for churches there.

If anyone could steer me in right direction I would be very grateful, and if there are other Giardino's looking for info maybe I can help with that.

Thanks
Dean.

You can use a standard letter to request birth, marriage and death records at the following:

Interactive form letter

You would send this request to the Stato Civile office.
