Birth and Death Certificate Question Again...

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Birth and Death Certificate Question Again...

Postby carloparenti » 21 May 2009, 00:10

When I write to the local municipality to request these certificates will they be "official/ apostled" when I receive them or just photocopies.

I need my grandfathers who died in 1952 to present to the Italian Consulate in San Francisco.

They will be certified photocopies, but be sure to request the documents in long form suitable for apostille. Once you get the documents, you forward them to the appropriate state office for the apostille. (I assume you are talking about U.S.-issued documents.)
