Passport in Italy

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Passport in Italy

Postby Darig » 18 Jun 2009, 19:52

Hi All,

I have a new question:

It is possible to obtain the passport directly in Italy? I mean go on vacations there, stay for 2 or 3 months and while staying there present all the required documentation and apply for the passport ?

And if possible ... where do i have to go to do it ? to the Main comuna ? Ex. Comune of Genova Genova or to the place of birth of the ancestor ? ex.Comune of La Spezia ? and how lomng it takes the process ?

Thnaks in advance,

If you mean getting citizenship while in Italy, it would only be possable if you were a resident of Italy. A vacation will not be enough. You must do it here in the states.
