italian birth and marriage certificates

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

italian birth and marriage certificates

Postby mexicocaribbean » 17 Jul 2009, 02:26

I've found the town where my great grandmother and grandfather were born and married. I want to order the birth and marriage certificates. Does anyone know if I have to have them certified or will they automatically be certified when I receive them?
After all this work I don't want to receive certificates that won't be recognized by the consulate.
Specifically can anyone tell me what to ask for so that I get the correct documents?
