Looking for leads to Alpi or Latini

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Looking for leads to Alpi or Latini

Postby rickalpi » 17 Jul 2009, 04:04

Looking for leads to the Ancestors of the following people that arrived in NY on the Stampalia on 23 Sep 1912. They all list Fabiano as there last address.

Pietro Alpi
Italia Latini
Ferruccio Latini
Sestilio Latini
Zaira Latini

I have other records that list the origin as Fabriano, not Fabiano.

Fa briano is a comune while Fabiano is a hamlet of sorts (on the road to La spezia is its designation) in Liguria region.

Go to www.nonsolocap.it and put in both names (one at a time please) and you can see for yourself. Most likely Fabriano is the correct town of origin. Click on Fabriano when it comes up for the town administration and the www for tourist stuff. The telephone directory www.paginebianche.it may be of assistance to you as well. =Peter=
