My g-grandfather Antonio Contu from Trieste's ship

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Mesta Machine was based in Homestead and West Homestead, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania
http://images.library.pitt.edu/cgi-bin/ ... page=index

I checked Allegheny County Pennsylvania for anyone named Contu in the 1930 US census - I couldn't find anyone.
What was Antonio's father's name? Maybe we can find a son?

Hello!
Your English is terrific, talking to call centers can be an awful experience  .
Perhaps you could try the option: "Have A Rep Contact You"
(it's on the right side drop down menu)
& only give them your email?

I wish I could think of something else to help.

The US census only goes thru 1930.

Antonio should have registered for the 1942 Military Draft - called "old man's registration", but I can't find him (do you have his birth date)

I looked for him in this nice website for Pittsburgh & Homestead without success
http://www.evendon.net/PGHLookups/HomePage.shtml
Click on Directories or Yearbooks, etc to get to the search
(the search function takes a little getting used to)

I checked the 1942 WWII Cards on ancestry. com

There were only 1212 men with the birthdate 22 Jan 1895
No one with a Surname beginning with a 'C' looked like your Antonio.
I believe he probably registered, but used a different name?

Here is a free site with the cards organized by state, then by name
http://search.labs.familysearch.org/rec ... 7819#start
"United States, World War II Draft Registration Cards, 1942"
