stupid question of all time

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

stupid question of all time

Postby corrado » 20 Sep 2009, 22:16

I had my appointment on Aug 6th with the consulate. I had a very confusing talk with the stato civil in my coumne. Afterwards, I realized we were not on the same page as it were. I assumed she has seem my paper work, and she was speaking as what she does when she gets it, she mentioned that the mayoror sindoco came to her office and asked for my grandfaters birth abstract. OK so here is my stupid question, does the file go first to the sindoco or the stato civil. I am sure no one can answer this one!

The sindaco is, of course, the mayor of the town. In a small town, I would imagine the sindaco is "hands on" and might look at all the paperwork that comes in. I noticed that the email address in many places is simply sindaco@________. Don't know if this helps.

The mayor is the Stato Civile officer. Very often he delegates his duties to a different person.
