1899-1900 New Orleans Passenger List from Sicily

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Paulo I read in your prevoius post, that the father was Francesco Bova and the mother: Antonina Giuliano; also I read abt Mascari surname; you can be more precise, and to say us what was Mascari link with Bova and Giuliano... I cannot find a Michael Bova, as a well Joe( Joseph) and Rosina... in the Louisiana censuses... what was the Michael Bova birthyear?
where lived Michael Bova?
It could be helpful for the ship's manifest search...
thanks,
suanj

thanks for your reply. I uderstand Michael was from Termini Imerese and was born in either 1882, 1883 in Termini. He came over to the USA when he was about 17. Michaels parents are Francisco Bova and Antonia Guiliano. WHen Michael came to the USA he married his bride Guiseppa Mascari around 1907????? Frank and Antonia Bova had 4 children---Michael, Joseph, Rosina and Santina. All children cane to the USA except for Santina who remained in Termini. There is a church there in Termini called Chiesa San Francesco Saviero ( I may have some fo the words mixed up and spelling) but I did visit the church about 30 years agao, my grandfathers name is inscribed on the altar. He saved money and sent home in Termini to his family and they renovated the church in his honor.

Hi suanj :D !
I'm pretty sure that you have his records.
According to your 1900 census find he would have arrived in 1900 about March?
Valarie

May help narrow down arrival date for manifest
Michele in Indiana in 1900 living with relatives

possible 1900 census
line 73
in US 3 mos as of June 1900
