I tried Newspaperarchive.com as well as several other sources and came up empty on both William and Celia.

Have you tried contacting the cemetery, http://www.cem.va.gov/CEMs/nchp/longisland.asp The burials were relatively recent; perhaps they can tell you the name of the funeral home and from there you may be able to obtain some information.

Were they living in Long Island at the time of their deaths? If so, you might try contacting the research desk at a local library and ask if they can look through newspapers in their collection for the obituaries. The Port Chester-Rye Brook Library (in Westchester County, NY) recently did this for me and I now have photocopies of the obituaries for all four of my grandparents who died in 1945, 1956, 1961, and 1967. So, it can be done!

I found an news article from 1950 (printed in the Trenton Times, New Jersey) about a Wm. Frecentese, a train watchman, who fell asleep on the job. This was on genealogybank.com

If you would like the article, just PM me an email address to send it to.
