Consent to Emigrate

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Where can I find the Consent to Emigrate? What kind of information would be shown on it?

Thank you.

A recent thread with some applicable information: http://italiangenealogy.tardio.com/Foru ... 22302.html

My impressions is that it is a document ithrough which one parent gives permission so that the other parent may leave the country with their minor children.

Googling "consenso espatrio" turns up numerous hits (in italiano, of course).
