Looking for info on Anthony Lamacchia

Post by dgeraghty1 »

Born in 1888 in Messina, Sicily. Father Joseph. Mother may have been Jennie. Brother Peter. Emigrated in early 1900s to NY. Can't find anything about him in Ellis Island.org or SSI Death Index. Need help!

NYC arrivals only show 7 Giuseppe Lamacchia and no Pietro at www.castlegarden.org. Perhaps you only checked ellisisland records. =Peter=

Peter, if this is in response to my comment about the correct name/spelling, that was directed to the original poster - not to you.

Actually we both posted at 9:12 AM; I hadn't seen your post at the time I was composing my own. :)

Your too kind! Notchuworry about me. Just made mistake about names as a result of not being able to wake up and smell the roses until whenever my wife rouses me from my lethargy. =Peter=

Welcome to the Forum!
I was looking at your(?) family site with the wonderful pictures on ancestry. com
Geraghty Family Tree

A couple of questions?
- Do you have all of your census records?
- You list 4 children born between 1902 and 1905 - Antonio would only have been 14 in 1902? Could his birth year (1888) be incorrect?
- Do you have Antonio and Concetta's marriage record, in NY?
- Was it Antonio's 1st marriage?

Thank you! Valarie

Clues in the census
This possible 1920 census matches some of the names on your family pages
Ages for Anthony and Concetta may be off by a few years (not uncommon on census records)

A couple of questions?
No I don't have all census records.
Antonio was definitely born Dec 22, 1888
-I don't have Antonio and Concetta's marriage record, in NY
-I believe it was Antonio's 1st marriage and they had 13 children, Anna, Joe, Sal, Frank, Pete, Tony, John, Jimmy, Antoinette, Josephine and Rosie, Morris

I believe that very well could be them in the 1920 census. You are awesome! No wonder I couldn't find them. The census spelling in LaMoca but they did have a son Joe and daughter Gerry....
