A question about reacquiring a lost citizenship ??

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Is there a new law on 28 may 2007 or 2008 that gives the visa automatically for those who want to reacquire their lost citizenship ?I heard about that.. is it right or nothing official about that ?

I am assuming that you were born in Italy and that you lost your citizenship through naturalization. If that is the case, it is easy to reacquire your lost citizenship, but it doesn't happen automatically.

You need to go to your consulate and fill out a form stating that you want to reacquire your citizenship. You then have one year from that date to set up residency in Italy (even if it is with a relative). Once in Italy, you inform local authorities of your intention and they will send someone to your residence to determine that you are actually there. After the check is completed, you can apply for a passport. Depending on your comune, this can take as little as several weeks.

You seem to qualify jure sanguinis. Please read my answer on your other thread.

Yes, you can apply for jure sanguinis citizenship at any age.

Look, if you qualify jure sanguinis, you can apply through the consulate without a problem.

If the consulate insists that you lost citizenship when your mother naturalized (probably incorrect since you say Egypt recognized dual citizenship at the time), then you AND your mother can use the method I described above.
