Dual Citizenship and Research -- Filardi Famiglia

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Dual Citizenship and Research -- Filardi Famiglia

Postby AndreasFilardi » 20 Aug 2010, 04:57

I have been doing research in order to gather the proper documents for applying for dual citizenship, but I have hit a wall on some documents.

I am having trouble finding several documents from Puerto Rico (where my family settled),
- My great grandfathers death certificate
- My grandfathers birth certificate

I have been searching through the familysearch database but they are simply not included in what I have found.

Also, if I am able to find them... Which is the Italian consulate for Louisiana, U.S.A? How difficult is the apostille process?

I would appreciate any suggestions that would help me with this process. Thanks for your time.
Grazie!!
