Letter from comune: ur ancestor only name in town w/ bday.

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

There is a template for this letter at:

www.italiancitizenship.freeforums.org

Look in the template section under "positivo/negativo."

Ap[ice onlyh has 6000 inhabitants so it might be easier to ask for the names of all children born on a specific date (you might run into trouble with privacy issues but it would make researching very easy for them to do since the calendar for that day may be indexed and easy to read. =Peter=

Hi Peter,

Thank you! That's a very good suggestion.

Can you suggest how I might request that information?

Best,
Marie

Send a request in Italian which neede not be complicated. A series of simple sentences would suffice. Please draft what you want to say in english and I will help draft a letter for you if necessary. =Peter=
