Cherubino Mariotti immigration to San Francisco 1874?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Cherubino Mariotti immigration to San Francisco 1874?

Postby jcmorey » 05 Sep 2010, 20:27

I haven't been able to find the immigration records/passenger list for my husband's great grandfather, Cherubino Mariotti. According to his obit he was born about 1852 in the village of Corsagna in Lucca. The information I have found so far would indicate he was in San Francisco as early as 1874. He lived in San Francisco until his death in Nov. 1883. He married Marie Fischer in 1880 (in SF) and had 2 sons (George 1881, and Joseph 1883). I haven't been able (yet) to locate information about his parents or siblings.

Any suggestions on where to look for Italians migrating to San Francisco around 1874?
