Need some advice

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Need some advice

Postby mike123 » 18 Sep 2010, 01:40

So I have been reading the forum the past few days and noticed that most people are in situations I am in. I am missing documents proving italian blood Line. I am applying through My Great Grand Father. I cant find his certificate Like so many others and am wondering if it is worth it to seek out an italian immigration lawyer. I see some online and wondered if they could possibly help.

An Italian immigration lawyer cannot do any more than you can do, and he will charge for it. If you are having difficulty, post your information, and perhaps someone can help.

Can you tell us what is your great-grandfather's name, when he did immigrate and his other dates, so we can try to help you finding the certificate?

well I have done all someone can do on this side of the tracks. I have contacted the commune they told me it was destroyed. the church he was most likely baptized in was destroyed to. the only things I have are american certificates stating he was a citizen of italy including his naturalization records.
I dont know what else can be done :(

Napoli town or a town in Napoli province?

Looks like strange that records were destroyed in Napoli.... what is the period of the birth and the section of the city?

Thank you Tessa :D

I believe that Mike 123 needs to find the correct "hamlet" in the town of Napoli, and find the correct municipality to which the hamlet belongs.....
There were many different municipalities inside the "big" comune of Napoli...
