Citzenship and serious illness

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Citzenship and serious illness

Postby f_albero » 22 Jul 2004, 14:39

After a three years exhaustive research I found my roots in Sarno, province of Salerno. I was informed by the Italian embassy in town that the process for obtaining an Italian citzenship takes from 2 to 4 years when requested abroad Italy. Since I was diagnosed with cancer I would like to know if, because of the illness, there's a way to speed up the process so my children can obtain their citzenship sooner. Any help is much appreciated.

Why not contact the Brazil Cancer Society to inquire of the Italian Embassy or inquire yourself for any waivers that may exist for immediate italian citizenship. Peter
