Postby Bac2man » 04 Jan 2011, 18:22

Hi all again, I have found my grandfathers Passenger list when he arrived in the United States on Feb. 19 1913 , I am trying in find out where he was going and who he knew here. I can barely read the ships manifest. I will post the link. If anyone has an idea I would greatly appreciate any and all help as always.
Its line #4 Paolo Santilli

To me it looks like he was going to see his sister, Rosa in Jersey City, NJ. Do you know if there was a sister named Rosa anywhere?

No, he left behind his mother Rosa in Italy.

Page 1 of the manifest indicates that his final destination was Jersey City, NJ (last two columns).

Page 2 indicates that he was born in Sessa (last column) and that he was going to join his cousin, Francesco Marino (?). There is an address there that I can't quite make out...

Yes, you are right. I didn't notice the heading, my apologies. I live near Jersey City. Today there is both a Montgomery Street and a Monmouth Street that have address numbers in the 400s and. This looks like #434, but the street name is hard to read.
