Migration to England from Naples circa 1920

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Migration to England from Naples circa 1920

Postby johnhodges » 26 Mar 2011, 23:48

I am trying to trace details of which ship etc my mother (aged 2 in 1920) and her parents (surname Spinetto) travelled on from Naples to England.

Could anybody tell me is there a record system that will enable me to do this

Thanks for the thought Laura - family folklore has always said Naples but perhaps we need to begin with more general migration details from Italy for that period - do you know of any internet accessible sources please?

You might find something at the National archives in Kew but I know of nothing on line
