adopted daughter

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

adopted daughter

Postby garypeg » 18 Sep 2011, 12:24

I am applying for Italian citizenship through my mother/grandfather. I think that makes my daughter eligible. However, she was adopted by ex-wife and her husband. So she would need her original birth certificate (with my last name), and her adoption papers, her birth cert issued with the name change. Is there anything else she might need other than the standard stuff? Thanks!

That should be enough. If your daughter is a minor, she will need the written permission of her mother before she can obtain an Italian passport.
