Question re: Certificate of Naturalizaiton

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Question re: Certificate of Naturalizaiton

Postby caridimondo » 05 Jan 2012, 21:24

I have my GGF's original cert of naturalization, and was wondering if the consulate will send it to Italy to never be seen again, or if they just send a copy. My mother really wants to keep the original as a memento.

Grazie,
Tom

Bring the original and a copy to your appointment. The consulate will examine the original and keep the copy in their file. It is not sent to Italy.
