cost of birth record

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

cost of birth record

Does anyone know the cost of a birth record from Italy? I know that I should include postal coupons with my request to the appropriate municipal office. But is there a fee for the birth record itself? Thanks for a reply.

No, there no fee for birth (or other "Stato Civile") records. There can only be some "secretary rights" (less than 1€). Some clerks say that, as a consequence of a recent law, all certificates must be "stamped" (about 14€), but law states this only for "Anagrafe" certificates (residence, "family sheet"), so I think they are wrong.

According to what I hear, Italy seems to have a welfare state, with social benefits for most of people. But now, we are going across a deep crisis, and most of benefits are being cancelled.
For what I think is the best of Italy, you don't need citizenship: if you can live here, you can enjoy its climate and its food.
