I am a canadian permanent resident and live in Canada. My mother who lives in Nicaragua is a italian (born in Nicaragua) but her father was from Italy. I have her birth certificate in Italian.
I was reading this document on the Consulate office for my area http://www.consvancouver.esteri.it/NR/rdonlyres/1E7C7A1B-9BDF-446A-A39F-AA4511F61622/2050/CITTAGeneralInfomationCitizenshipENG.pdf and it request for all vital documents and the passport of my mother.
My question is what if my mother wants to travel or needs her passport? Do all the documents need to be translated to Italian (most of them would be in spanish)?
Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.
