Palmino DeTora

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Palmino DeTora

Post by demari18 »

My husband's grandfather was Palmino DeTora. He was born in Casale near Versano in the area of Teano, Campania, Italy. On a recent visit to relatives there they told us that Palmino had returned to Italy once after he left for America in 1906. Palmino died in 1941 in the United States. Is there any where to find out when he returned to his home town? Thank you - DeMari

You might look for the returning ship manifest. There must be at least two. Many Italians returned several times.
The town won't have any record unless he married there or registered as a resident which is unlikely if he did not plan to stay.
