I was wondering how I go about obtaining my grandmother's birth certificate. Would like to be able to get it for my father for Christmas. I saw that you can hire a site to get it. I'm not sure exactly where it would be located. I know she was born in a fishing village in Naples around 1914, and believe her father was Georgio Merache. We did previously hire someone to find out about our ancestry, which is how we found out my grandmother was born in Italy. The research came to a standstill though.

I cannot find a Anna Maria Merache arrival... Merache is no the right spelling.. as a well Merarche, but Mirarchi is italian spelling... ant the above Giorgio Merarche(Mirarchi) coming from Catanzaro and his right italian name was Gregorio Mirarchi.. Ah thank you! My dad did grow up in Farrel PA. Mary was my dad's aunt, who helped raise him. The ages listed, was that the age they came over from Italy? Also, George/Giorgio the same person? My dad did tell me that another man by the same or similar name came over at the same time that as a family member. Also, his father went back to Italy, apparently to bring back a new wife after his previous one died from giving child birth. At least that's what we were told.
I did make a spelling error. Meant to be Anna Marie-not Maria. Sorry for so much confusion. My grandmother didn't even tell my dad she was born in Italy. She would even tell people she was French. She certainly did not give us much to work with ha.
