Immigration records

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Immigration records

Post by pascalena »

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the US immigration office in locating naturalization records. I sent my request in over seven months ago and still haven't heard from them. Is this common? I do not believe my grandfather was naturalized because in the 1930 census he is listed as an ailen. I need the "no record" from them to proceed with my Italian Citizenship. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have written for several records. Each time I received a letter stating they had my request and would be working on it and gave me a file number. The actual records I requested came later, from 2- 6 months.
