Hello,
I just found out that I seem to have an ancestor whose brother emigrated to Italy. I am very curious to find out more about him. All I know right now is that he was getting married in Italy and for that reason was sent the baptism record on July 28, 1851. (He was born 1823 in Bohemia.) My documents also state that he was pyrotechnician. Since I don't have any more information, I'd just take a guess that he might have gone to learn from the "scuola italiana" in Bologna, one of two main schools practicing pyrotechnics.
Can anybody tell me how I can look up information about marriages in Bologna and the region around it? And how could I possibly find data about immigrants to italy (like you can find immigrants to USA in passenger lists, censuses and the Ellis Island foundation...)?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Susanne
