Health Insurance via Italy??

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Health Insurance via Italy??

Postby Petrarca » 22 Aug 2005, 04:44

Hi,

I'm moving to Sweden, and I'm doing so with my Italian passport (if and when I get it!! :-) But I have a question! For EU citizens, we have to get an E128 form for medical insurance purposes. To get one, you have to be registered in the health system of your home country.
As an American who lives in America, but has Italian citizenship, how exactly do I go about sorting out all the technicalities since I don't actually live in Italy.
Would really appreciate answers from people who have experience with this or who REALLY know what they're talking about!! :-)

Thanks....
