I don't know where to start tracing my father's family.

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

I don't know where to start tracing my father's family.

My father is Michele Odessa (as was his grandfather). The family was from Rionero in Vulture, Basilicata. Michele Odessa must have been born in about the 1890s, he served as a soldier in WWI and died in the war.

I don't know where to find any information about the family, other than what my father remembers.

Cheers
Rita
