Dual Nationality - Searching Birth Certificate records in Genoa

Postby mcros19 » 28 Jun 2016, 21:18

Hello,

Since the Brexit vote I've been looking into taking up dual Italian-English nationality. Am I right in thinking I qualify based on the below?

Great Grandfather - Born in Italy 1878
Grandmother - Born in England 1923
Father - Born in England 1956
Me - Born in England 1991

My GGF never naturalised.

My second question would be if any of you kind people know where I would obtain a copy of his birth certificate? Are they available online? Or does anybody know where I could find the email address for the comune di Genova, or would I have to make the request by post?

Apologies if I am requesting something that has already been covered on this board, I did a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Thanks for the welcome :D

I am looking for this person...
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVRD-YCC5

(Although his DOB is different on his English death certificate, is this common?)

Thank you for that link I'll have to trawl though the pages and see if he appears, is there an easy way to navigate?

EDIT: I've had a quick look and don't seem to be able to find him :?
