Vincenzo Tomasetti

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Hi Everyone!

Just got this request from a cousin in New York who is helping a friend and hoping to find information on her grandfather, Vincenzo Tomasetti, no birth year yet given. Unfortunately, she never knew him so has limited info.
Her grandmother was Anna DiBerardina, also no bith year given. Children were, Ersilia, Maria, and Anthony. Immigrated from Abruzzi region and settled most likely in Chicago.

Sorry folk, I know the info is limited right now but I thought I'd put it out there anyway and see if anything happens. I should know better right

But I know you guys have pulled off miracles before so lets see happens!

Thanks
Nuccia :D

I found these too. Maria, I need your help, as I always do! The first Tomasetti on this list is mislinked. I am attempting stevemorse.org but you know what kind of luck I usually have when I try! Could you help...only if you have time? I know what a time consuming process it is but there are 3 Tomasetti's on the passenger list and I'd like to see what comes up. Thanks!

Hey you!

Not a problem... it could be worse... since the viewable manifest and the Passenger Record ship info is the same.... (THE FULDA) then all you have to do is click the next or previous buttons to find the correct sheet...

Go to this link...

http://ellisisland.org/search/shipManif ... 4773060342

Now... where it says "page 340" ?? on the right side of the mini manifest....

click NEXT till you reach page 352

check out line 11 for Annibale Tomasetti

There is a line running through a few names... maybe they did not sail at this time... or boarded onto another ship a day or 2 later...

Unfortunately, the info is vague......

Hope your hydro hangs in there for awhile... it was a brutal evening and morning here as you know...

Maria :P

Thank You Again, Maria.

I called the Us and spoke to my aunt. Her friend was near and this is the additional info she could provide.
Vincenzo probably born abt 1875 but not sure from Corvara Italy, Abruzzi region. He married Anna DiBernadina and had children in Chicago. Ersilia was born Feb 22, 1906 (she would have been 100 if she lived.) Mother and children went back to Italy about 1910, 1911 and never came back to the US. Ersilia married Emilio DeMarco in Italy and had children, one of the being Maria who now lives in Yonkers, New York. Vincenzo remained in the US and worked as a miner.

This manifest looks the most promising but I would like other opinions.

http://ellisisland.org/search/shipManif ... 0697%2ETIF

I believe it states he had been in the US prior to 1910, and most probably means that the family won't be located in any census of Chicago for this year since this lists as wife Anna is in Italy. Also states Vincenzo was in New York...

Now, to follow Vincenzo..and hopefully find previous manifest as well as Anna's ship manifest. Any and all help would be appreciated right now!

Thanks
Nuccia
