Speeding up the citizenship process

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Speeding up the citizenship process

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the comune where you want to apply for citizenship can request the records from the US Consulate thus, speeding up the process? Any thoughts on this???

Haven't heard of anyone doing so. It seems to me it would take longer (if it's even possible) unless you're dealing with a particularly slow consulate.
