My Great grandfather died in Hoboken NJ in 1906 but we cant find any record of him arriving in US. I have looked on the Ellis Island site but could not find any info on him. I seem to think that he was a sailor on a ship that arrived in US.
My G/Fathers name was Gio Bono Chiesa from Camogli Italy

thank you

There are two things that you can do. One is to file form 81 for his arrival in the USA and go to www.genealogylookups.com/narchives.htm and submit the form. The next thing you can do is, if he was a naturalized US citizen is to go to www.us immigration.gov/graphics/aboutus/history/natzrec/natrec.htm. Peter
