NARA or USCIS?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

NARA or USCIS?

Postby Italy82 » 02 Jan 2008, 21:48

Hi all,

I will apply for DC through the paternal line - GGF.

I have a certified (with seal) reproduction of his record from the NARA, but during my meeting with the Boston consulate, they told me this is no good and that I need proof from the USCIS of my Great Grandfather's Naturalization. I called the USCIS and they said it's $300 for a duplicate certificate!!

I called the Boston Consulate and they said I do not need the certificate but a letter stating that he was Naturalized.

Help! I'm confused on what I need and how much it will cost.

Please advise!

Thank you!
