Little Italy 1980-81

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Little Italy 1980-81

Postby daveferro » 28 Apr 2008, 04:39

Tried to upload these photos of Little Italy to the Photo Album, but...

These are around Mulberry Street and the streets nearby 1980-81

Can't find any reference to Caruso's anymore, but it was one or two blocks east of Mulberry and below Spring.

One day, there was a procession up Mulberry, up to Old St. Patrick's, between Houston and Prince (not counting Jersey Alley).

And then there was the storefront with the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, all lit up. These were scenes that I wanted my mother to see.
