Ferla from Sortino, Sicily

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Ferla from Sortino, Sicily

Postby lizferla » 03 May 2008, 18:49

Found 2 more possible family members on Ellis Island site.
Sebastiana Ferla aged 3 and Vincenzo Ferla aged 3 months left Sortino in Sicily, with Lucia Albicocco. They sailed from Napoli on the Campania on 5th June 1905.
My Grandparents, Sebastiano Ferla and Maria LoMonaco were from that region, their daughter Virginia came to Glasgow then USA in 1914.
Paolo Ferla left Sortino in 1900 for Scotland.
Want to trace siblings if possible.
Any ideas?????
Cheers,
Liz
All advice welcome!
Many thanks,
Liz Ferla
