naturalization denied?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

naturalization denied?

Postby belmoro19 » 14 Jun 2008, 00:38

i wanted to see if someone could help me with a question on naturalization records.they are for my grandfather.i have the petition and oath of allegiance.under the oath of allegiance there is a section stating "order of court admitting petitioner" which is filled out with his name and date.under that is a section "order of court denying petition" which is not filled out BUT directly underneath that is typed "THE SAID PETITION IS HEREBY DENIED".I'M CONFUSED!was he naturalized or is this simply a screw up on the courts part?on the bottom of the page it has certificate of naturalization # and issued date.and is this the exact date he would have beome a citizen.

can someone clear this up for me.i am pretty sure he naturalized because i have seen his passport.
