Usually, after a period of time, one of two copies is sent to the state archives.
State archives contain the records of each military district within the boundaries of the province.
The address for the state archives:

Archivio di Stato
Provincia di Latina
Via Piceni
04100 Latina, Italy

Sirena - Did you ever get a response from the archive office in Latina? My GGF and GGM died in WWII during the bombing campaigns on Formia and Maranola and always wanted to get information on civilian casualties.
