Hi I have a payed for account on ancestry.com and have gathered alot of info except when it comes ot out of country things, and most of my family came from italy so I need some help getting italian info.
One person in specific I need info on is Pasqualena(Pasqualina?) Ragna (D'Amato married name) born 10 JUN 1869 in Montemiletto, Avellino, Italy and died in 3 FEB 1954 in Asbury Park, Monmouth, New Jersey,USA. Other info would include that she immigrated to The usa in 1907(according to 1910 census) she probably whent threw ellis island but I am not shure. She married some man with the last name of D'Amato some time in Italy and had children Angelo Michael D'Amato and Carmen D'Amato (possibly more?) The man she married died before she got to america so i cant find his name or anything.
Anyone who could tell me how to get italian Cencus records and marriage and birth certificates for these people would be a big help.
ty for reading
also if anyone could help me with the origin of Ragna and D'Amato family names
Dear Mike you can have all the information you are seking in the microfilm of the civil records for Montemiletto, (province of Avellino) covering allbirths, marriages and deaths from 1809 to 1900.
Go to www.familysearch.org for the location of the nearest family history library of the Mormon church and rent out the microfilm for about $5.00 and they supply the equipment, copy machines and the microfilm for your use.
May I suggest you bring along a book DISCOVERIN YOUR ITALIAN ANCESTORS by Luynn Nelson and a m,gnifying glass to read the hand written records which you may need from time to time.
In the event youmay want only specific records likebirth records, marriage records, Family status certificates showing the entire compstion of any one family headed by the father etc etc. The service is free and Italian language form letters are available at www.mangeruca.com along with the Montemiletto address.
Don't hesitate to get back if you have any more questions. =Peter=
Misbris that must be it Theresa D'Amato is my great grandma, so i guess others didnt come with her or dont exist idk, thank you for your help now i just need to disifer this cryptic script lol(it gets hard for i am dislexic)
And as for what peter sayed, To rent a the microfilms would i have to be in Italy? if so i dont plan on going there for a few years, and both your links confused me all i got from the second link was the postage code for Montimiletto. Can i find Italian cencuses online or can i send the library a letter to get the info, where to send or find?
Dear Mike I am very sorry for your trouble in not understandingme when I explained the proper procedures in obtaining information you are seeking. I am sorry but I cannot understand some of the words of what you are saying so would you please explain it to me once again. Maybethis time I willbe able to grasp it and assist you properly. Your friend =Peter=
Peter, I was trying to say that I couldn't find info on the relatives that I want to, The info I want is Birth,Marriage, And or Census records, and I was wondering where to get those, and if I had to be in Italy too find them or if there was a website/ somewhere I could send a letter or email to retrieve these records from Italy.

I know there are many incorrects dates but I think it's the right family...
In case you haven’t seen these.
Sometimes it’s helpful to look at family trees that include your family.
Unfortunately they can contain misinformation and false assumptions, but the authors can turn out to be relatives
Even if the trees don’t list sources, they can be great starting points for your research.
After locating your census records in the US, you can use the information to find
other vital records.
