Find my Relatives

Postby jc163288 » 23 Nov 2008, 13:18

Hi, My name is Nicole Brown and i am trying to find any relatives of

Giuseppe Giovanni Agostino born 18 August 1850 in Genoa,

he had 10 brothers and he was the youngest. He left Genoa in 1864 when he was 14 and moved to New Zealand, where he became Giuseppe Giovanni Agostino Perano.

He is my great great grandfather and i would love to meet anyone of the family.

I do not know his last name prior to moving to new zealand. Several of my relatives have been to genoa to try and find anything that may help us but they have had no luck.

Any information you can provide would be absolutely amazing.

Thankyou

Nicole

There are only 6 Perano surnamed persons residing in the Imperia Province of Liguria near Genova province. Since you might wish to know if any of these Perano people are related to you go to www.paginebianche.it and insert Perano in the first line and Liguria (for entire region) inthe second line and CERCA. This will bring all 9 Perano in Liguria region You may wish to write to them in a form letter which you can find at www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwisdom/sa ... etter.html

Hi Nicole,
Have you seen this?
http://www.clubgaribaldi.org.nz/global/ ... -March.pdf

Here is a useful new Zealand site listing most of the cemeteries and burials:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.anc ... eries.html

And here is the Marlborough district listing - It includes Giuseppe and 36 other Perano family members

Searching for my great x3 grandfather Raffaele CIACCIA, also known as Raphael/Ralph CHURCH. He was born in Napoli around 1792 and arrived in London before 1812 with his brother Saverio CIACCIA, where they married sisters Ann and Jane FURNEAUX. He switched between CHURCH and CIACCIA all his life, which has made it difficult enough to pin him down. I want to find his origin in Italy.

Hi, My name is Claudia Wakefield-Dunn I am 15. And if we are talking about the same person, I have always known him as Agostino Perano. I have sadly never met him as he was my great, great grandfather. Agostino and his wife Susan moved to Picton where they had a family of 11 children, one of them being my great grandfather Davey, he married a woman called Vera, they stayed in Picton and had 7 children, one of them being my grandma (or Nona) Natalie who married a man called Harold and had 4 children, one of them being my dad who lived in picton for most of his childhood. So since Agostino moved to picton the Peranos stayed there. I live about 2 hours away from picton now in nelson with my dad and sister and mum. But my aunite Judy still lives in picton, my grandma natalie lived in picton all her life till she sadly passed away 30th November 2011 and Natalie's sister Carmela still lives in Picton
