Vito Nunzio Natale

Postby peterjschroeder » 10 Dec 2008, 04:54

Hello. I am searching for the parents or siblings of

Vito Nunzio Natale
Born 12/25/1891
Died: 1/20/1937

And his spouse

Antonette Baratta
Born: 12/22/1892
Died: 2/31/1966

They had 12 children

Rose, Louis, Mary, Angie, Tony, Santa, Annie, Mike, Rosario, Joe, Rose, and Carmella

My Mother tells me, they came over from Italy separately and were married in the USA (which i cant find a record of). Supposedly Antonette was dropped off in an orphanage by her father, which might of been in Chicago.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes that is Vito, ive seen that record already. He came over alone tho, so it doesnt help finding his parents or siblings. Now that Baratta. That could be her, dates are right. Thanks. :)

Could be. What source is that from? Doesnt help much, but hey more sources the better :) I have just about everyone from him down, just not up. Be much easier of the Italian Census was online :P

I found that Christina Santucci spouse was Carmen Baratta. Now to figure out who Christina and Carmens parents are.

Anyone know how to spell Christina in Italian?

There are two sites of interest:

Naturalization

Birth, Marriage and Death

Both sites have free access to indexes.

That marriage record seems to fit, but i wonder why it says they were both born in Chicago.

Been threw those Chicago records already.

Census states Italy, but can be notoriously wrong. Name is mistranscribed
and on actual census clearly states Nunzio. Also states immigration as 1913
for both.

1920 United States Federal Census

Name: Mangai Natale
[Manzai Natalo]
Home in 1920: Chicago Ward 19, Cook (Chicago), Illinois
Age: 26 years
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1894
Birthplace: Italy
Relation to Head of House: Head
Spouse's Name: Antonetta
Father's Birth Place: Italy
Mother's Birth Place: Italy
Marital Status: Married
Race: White
Sex: Male
Home owned: Rent
Year of Immigration: 1913
Able to read: No
Able to Write: No
Image: 418

Household Members: Name Age
Mangai Natale 26
Antonetta Natale 26
Rose Natale 3
Loui Natale 2
Mary Natale 3/12

Have you sent for the death records? May list parents name, and place of birth.
Would also send for naturalization record.

Awesome. Because i just found out Maria Guiseppa NICOLAPAOLO is also Christina's mother :) Her father is Giovanniantonio SANTUCCI. So Nicolas must be her brother. Where did you find the death certificate?

Ah k. Thanks. Just noticed you linked it on the bottom of your post :P

Just noticed you said Colapaula not NICOLAPAOLO :P Maybe she got remarried to Giovanniantonio's brother (if he had one) as she also died in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio.
