Luisi Family

Postby pegusus1198 » 17 Dec 2008, 19:51

I was looking into any information I could find about my Luisi family. I am getting conflicting information from 2 sites. Vincenzo Luisi was born 2/27/1859. On his Natualization papers it says he was from Paula, Salerno, Italy, however the Ellis Island records are showing him from Melito, Italy. He came over in 1893. I'm trying to find out anything I can about him and my family Where can I start?

Any help is appreciated.

That's him. :D

I guess the Ellis Island record was incorrect.

I would love to learn more about the family.

The bride & groom index was very helpful. I realized I was spelling Vincenzo's wife Mary's last name wrong. I am so grateful for simple tips. I'm not overly computer savy.

You're right, it's surprising how many names are either misspelled or mis-transcribed in the indexes.
It's wonderful that you have a new lead.
I ordered my g-grand uncles marriage record from NY it was a real eye-opener & answered quite a few questions.
Congratulations! Valarie

I know its been a long time snce anyone has posted, but I recently came across a document for the Luisi family. The document is a passport from Italy, for the Luisi family which is for 8 children and thier parents dated 1890. I am trying to find out how this is related to my family and why my Grandfather had this document.
