Looking for Domenico BOZZA - Santamenna, Itay

Postby Fred48 » 15 Jan 2009, 18:02

Hi,

I am looking for any information on Domenico Bozza; he is my wife's grandfather. He was born about 1891 in Santamenna, Itay. He migrated to the United States about 1902 to Jersey City. He married Tersa Ferretti.

Thanks,

Fred

Hi,

I am looking more for Italian records records (i.e. birth) and also any information on who his parents may be.

The US records I have from other relatives so my focus is on his Italian records.

Thanks,

Fred

Hey Fred,
We can help direct you on how to get that information
We’ll need to be sure of his exact birth location since Italian records are kept at the comune (town) level
Valarie

This may help:
1917 WWI Draft Registration Card
Birth date 8 Oct 1889
In Santomenna, Salerno, Campania region (??)

Fred,
One way would be to write to the comune:

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Piazza 23 Novembre
84020 Santomenna (SA)
Italy

Here’s an interactive form letter with instructions that may help:

Hola Fred:

Mi familia también vino de Santomenna, y buscando en la pagina de Ancestry.com encontre un Sr. que hizo un estudio de toda la gente que se fue de Santomenna,

You will also find attached to this person

1 attached records
1 sources
3485 people in this member tree

pero es imposible contactar quien puso este arbor en el sitio de Ancestry.com....
El mensaje es:

We're sorry. The user you would like to contact (gcuster854) has elected not to be contacted by anyone regarding information posted on this site.

Fred, I received a PM from Anac, asking me to translate his post. I don't know why, however I understand a little bit of Spanish and below is a rough summary:

Anac's family is from Santomena. She found in Ancestry a person that made a deep search about people coming from Santomena.

Anac did write to Garry and was authorized to view the tree, where there are all the names, including the Bozza. She was allowed to view all the trees related to "SANTOMENA PEOPLE" .

Hi Livio.....I copy and pasted the current address, sending it to the poster.

We have had two post this week which were requested to be completely removed due to personal information such as address and telephone numbers being made public....... :?

A woman whose personal information was posted was overwhelmed by numerous phone calls from strangers......she was less than happy and very upset......

Thanks for understanding.....

HI,
I would like to thank everyone who responded to my request. I was able to get a copy of my wife's grandffather, Domenico Bozza, from Santomenna. My son's girlfriend is from Italy and she helped with the initial reqest. The turn around was unbelieveable plus it was free.

Again, thanks for everyone's help.
