Hi Jennifer,

This is just a suggestion, it worked for me.

My grandfather had been a bit of a mystery to me also and when I found out where he had worked I was curious. I contacted the local historical society for the town he worked in and inquired if they had records or information about the old zinc mine that use to be operational. They did have information and I was able to obtain a list of employee names, rates of pay, addresses, if sick when and what with (the mine had a company doctor) what he was treated for, his position at work etc. My grandfather worked there from 1910 through the 1940's.

So I'm thinking that maybe you can contact the mayors office in Roxbury, find out if they have a historical society or an archive where old documents might be kept for this paper factory and you just might be able to find an old address or employee record that could possibly give you some additional information on him.

Good luck in your search and let us know if you have any luck.

Elizabeth
