Mattacelli surname

Did orphanages back than require where their parents where born or their birth dates, or was it more like drop off the doorstep and run?

Nope, no one knows what orphanage. Oddly enough tho. I took another look at Nunzio's passenger list. And right under him, seems to be someone with a last name that looks kinda like Mattacelli. Looks like 2 r's instead of 2 t's. I can't quite make out exactly what the first and last name is.

Opinions anyone, on what the name looks like?

seeming MARVULLI surname also existing in Santeramo ....

I'm trying to get a verification of the spelling of that last name from another family member. No response as of yet, most of my family knows squat :P

The name that I read on line 29, under NATALE Vito Nunzio, is MARRULLI Luca.

Suanj, I may agree on MARVULLI, however the first name is definitely Luca (male, also stated in the manifest)... :wink:

Ah i see thanks. Guess it's not really as close as i thought.

I just saw that there is a Polish forum. Sense i'm stuck on this one i think i'll go bug people there about my Polish line :)
