Tracing the Bacciarelli family...

Postby Gerty » 17 Feb 2009, 14:38

I am currently trying to trace ancestors from the Bacciarelli family...The details I have so far are:

Silvio Vincenzo Bacciarelli, born 1901 in Naples, Italy - son of Pasquale Alberto Bacciarelli (born abt 1870, Naples) and Angelina [Angela] Mazza (born c1871, Naples).
Pasquale's father was Vincent [or Vincenzo] Bacciarelli.
Pasquale and his family came to live in England around the early 1900's. He lived in London and was a Mechanic Engineer / Tool Maker. The family ran an engneering / tool making company in London.
By 1911 Pasquale and Angelina Bacciarelli had 7 children (all still living at that time) but so far I have only been able to trace Silvio and a daughter, Edea Elizabeth Bacciarelli, born in London in 1905.
I beleive Angelia Bacciarelli (nee Mazza) died sometime prior to 1924.
Pasquale married his second wife, Rosa Newar, in London in 1924.

I am really keen to find out more information about the family, and to trace details of Angelina and Pasquale's other childen, also birth records for Angelina, Pasquale and their other children, and Pasquale's father's details too so if any of these people or this family is familiar to you, if you have any information to share, any tips on how to trace these ancestors from Italy or can identify any of the family members I have already traced then I would love to hear from you. Thanks!

Have you reviewed www.freeBMD.org.uk? or the free name checks at www.findmypast.com? In Italy documents and records are archived in the city, town or village of origin and this informationis vital. Can you give us this information so that you can be on your way? =Peter=

All I know at the current time is that Pasquale Bacciarelli and his wife Angelina [Angela] Mazza may have been born in Naples. Do you knwo how I would go about tracing / getting copies of their birth certificates?
Thanks again.

Naples is a city and a capital of the province of Naples and when you say Naples (NAPOLI) you are saying, in effect that Napoli is their place of birth and NOT a town or village inthe province of NAPOLI.

Once you know for certain the place of origin then you can obtain documents free of charge by addressing a form letter in Italian (we give you one) to the CITY or the Town or the Village of origin. =Peter=

Thanks for that. Once I have, hopefully, been able to confirm their exact places of birth I will take the next step.

Hi Gerty,
I too am trying to trace references to Bacciarelli families - my great grandfather was Giovanni Battista Bacciarelli son of Antonio Bacciarelli and Mavoriglia Dell'Orr who lived in Gera Lario.
http://www.bacciarelli.co.uk

Although I have no idea if this family are in any way distantly related, I have been slowly gathering information on all that I can find with the surname and have the same details that you have discovered. Might have more and happy to pass on the details that I have - contact me on bacrog@bacciarelli.co.uk

I also communicated briefly with a couple of other relations of this family who stated that they had done considerable research of their tree but who did not respond to further emails regarding any connection :-(

One of the members who responded and was helpful has a website here:
http://www.bacciarelli.com
although I haven't spoken to him in some time.

Hope ths helps!
Tracey

I agree with vocalist... Bacciarelli sure coming from Lombardia region... a south italian versino of Bacciarelli surname is: Bucciarelli... but I believe Bacciarelli correct, North Italy: Lombardia region, Como area very probable......
Angela Bacciarelli died in june 1924:
Deaths Jun 1924

BACCIARELLI Angela 53 Paddington (
Paddington spans the boundaries of the counties of Greater London, London and Middlesex)

Thanks for the input suanj!

My great grandfather Giovanni Battista/Baptista/Bathista also had a brother Guiseppe/Giaseppe and two sisters - Angela Adele Bacciarelli born 1871 died 1883 and Maria Bacciarelli born around 1855 died 1883 who married Giovannio Antonio Peverelli.

I strongly suspect there were several other siblings including three brothers Antonio, Carl and Girolamo who may not have survived beyond childhood.

I also suspect that further back down the tree will reveal that their roots are from another part of Italy as the Bacciarelli surname appears to have originated in a place called MODENA. The particular spelling is not common although as Suanj mentions you can find many variations including Baccarelli and Buccarelli.
