Catapano

Postby jcrandel » 18 Feb 2009, 05:42

Are there any Catapanos here?

I am reseraching the Catapano surname. My grandfather was Michele (aka Michael) Catapano. He was born in 1907 in Italy, lived in upstate New York for a number of years, and then returned to Italy, where he lived the rest of his life. He died there in 1975. I believe he was from the Naples area. His parents were Antonio (Tony) Catapano and Maria (Mary) Mancion. His brother Frank lived in the US, I believe in Massachusetts.

Joining father Antonino in Mattawan ? New York, Maria using married name of Catapano. She travels with sons Michele, Francesco, and Giovanni.
All four list Nola as place of birth.

This second record is basically the same as the first minus the mother and children. Michele was admitted to the hospital upon arrival and this would be the record for detainment.

I have Capitano (spelling could be wrong) in my lineage from Rocca d'Evandro in the Prov. of Caserta. My 2xg grandmother's name was Maria Teresa b: 1864 - her parents were Francesco Capitano and Maria Antonia. Do not know of any siblings of my 2xg grandmother.
